National leaders of churches in the Brethren movement are finding it increasingly valuable to meet together regularly for networking. Under the general auspices of the four-yearly International Brethren Conferences on Mission (IBCM), regional conferences are flourishing in different parts of the world. The first Brethren in Europe conference was held at Wiedenest in Germany in June 2005. 165 were present, from 24 European countries.
The intention of the conferences is to bring together key people from across Europe, west and east, north and south. We hope that there will be representatives (both men and women) from as many as possible of the European countries in which there are churches connected in some way with the Brethren movement.
Please support this conference if you possibly can. Come and enjoy a time of conference with like-minded brothers and sisters.
The conference is to be held at Modra-Harmónia, in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, 30 kms north east of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. There is easy access by road, and from Bratislava and Vienna airports.
Transport will be provided to and from Bratislava airport or Bratislava train/bus station (there is a frequent bus service from Vienna airport to Bratislava bus station), provided participants can arrive at set times (more details will be provided later to those who book).
We hope to translate main sessions to and from the main European languages by headphone, and to have group translation for one or two other languages as well.
Please check what valid official travel document (passport or identity card) you will need for travel from your country to Slovakia. Entry from most European countries is visa free, but from certain countries a visa is needed (please check what is needed in your own case).
The conference fee including meals from lunch on 1 July to the afternoon of 4 July, overnight accommodation, and administrative and other charges will be €145.
Return transfer will be available from Bratislava airport or Bratislava train/bus station for an additional €15 on 30 June and the morning of 1 July, and after the conference on 4 July.
Participants will be responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from Slovakia. (No funds are available to assist participants to attend the conference. All conference fees, travel costs etc. must be met by individual participants themselves.)
