Regional Youth Conference
October 3 - 5, 2008, Modra-Harmónia
The last number of days have been full of activity and joy at the Berea Centre. For the first time since we bought the facility in 2004, we conducted a three-day regional youth conference which was attended by about 100 people.
You may ask, "Has the reconstruction of the facility been finished?" Well, we wish that we could say so. In fact, it could take as long as two more years before the building is completed. However, we have not needed to wait until the centre is finished to be able to use it for God's glory.
The three-day youth conference which took place last weekend (October 3.-5, 2008) was full of excitement, singing and teaching on the subject of "How to walk with God". On Sunday morning, the believers from the Modra assembly (the nearest one to the Berea Centre) joined us as we all celebrated the Remembrance of our Lord with breaking bread and drinking the wine. This special occasion of breaking the bread was the first one ever to be conducted at the centre, and it will linger for ever in the hearts and minds of those who were present.
The size of the main hall can comfortably seat 100 people. According to the architectural plans, we will expand the size of the hall so that its seating capacity is significantly increased up to 150 people.
The conference also became a "testing time" for the our dear ladies at the kitchen who managed to cook and feed all the hungry stomachs from Friday to Sunday afternoon.
This first regional youth conference which took place at the center was greatly blessed of the Lord. The young people came from various cities, from 12 different assemblies in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Their hearts were touched by the Lord and changed for His glory. We continue to receive letters from these young people testifying to the fact that God indeed moved on their hearts mightily. They are already looking forward to our upcoming meetings, conferences and events which will take place at the facility. We also believe that many people will come to know Christ at this blessed place.
We feel confident that the Lord will use the centre mightily in the days and years to come to equip Slovak workers who will be able to go into other countries where Western ministries cannot go.
Thank you again, dear Brothers and Sisters, for your support of this project which will one day serve at full capacity as a camp, retreat facility, conference center and a Bible school for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Serving the Lord Together,
Lubomir Vyhnanek and Jozef Abrman
