Bro. Jakub Psczolka, from the Czech Republic, shared with us about his life and ministry of translating the Bible for one of the Indonesian tribes where he has been ministering for a number of years, along with his wife, Barca. Brother Milan Szturc, a leading elder who also comes from Jakub's home assembly, talked to us about the assembly's commitment to these missionaries, as well as, the many practical ways that they support their lives and ministry in Indonesia.
Bro. Paul Graham, from Ireland, shared with us his personal experience of planting an assembly in Marseille, France. It was a blessing to hear about how the cross-cultural challenges were overcome and how their personal creative involvement in the new community in France opened the doors for the founding of the new and thriving assembly. Paul's teaching from the Bible on the subject of being the light in today's society was practical and inspirational.
Bro. Tony Green, from England, and a child of English missionaries living in the jungles of Indonesia, shared with us about what it means to be an "MK". The challenges that his family had to face, especially in the area of education of their kids, were painful and consequential for the future of the family and the ministry. Needless to say, Tony's practical and realistic look into the life of a missionary family was unforgettable and refreshing.
Bro. Jan Veldhuizen from Holland talked, as always, practically and penetratingly about examining ourselves, whether our faith is the kind of faith that works itself out through love (Gal.5:6). We can forget about our faith, our knowledge, our prophesies and self-sacrifice, if we have no love, which is a distingishing mark of genuine faith and true disciples of Christ.
Bro. Peter Kozar, who serves as the Lord's servant in our own Slovak assemblies, and is a part of the Christian Center Berea leaders' team, shared with us about his teaching ministry in Zambia, where he ministered for two weeks last Spring. The CCB has been active in supporing the ministry of Zambian evangelists and missionaries since 2005. It was very pleasant to see the footage from this African country and to see the native workers accepting the bicycles, tents, mosquito nets and other items, given with love, from the believers in Slovakia.
The participants of the Conference also had an opportunity to see an overview of the ministries and projects that the CCB is involved in. The most exciting of these is the reconstruction of the facility that will one day serve as a multi-purpose centre for conferences, youth camps, as well as, a Bible school. The roof of the centre is being built right now while we trust the Lord to supply the necessary resources to finish this project for His glory and the growth of Christ's church.
